San Antonio, Texas (December 17, 2024) – Founded in 2023 by San Antonio-based consumer packaged goods (CPG) founders and industry professionals, San Antonio CPG was established to support this rapidly growing sector of the local economy. The consumer packaged goods industry includes food, beverage, health and wellness, personal care, household goods, pet care, baby products, and other consumables.
The organization began as a steering committee and laid the foundation for becoming a Board of Directors-led group by hosting monthly meetups and educational programs for industry newcomers. A major milestone for the group was their involvement in the first-ever CPG Showcase during San Antonio Start-Up Week.
At its annual meeting, San Antonio CPG unanimously established the organization’s first bylaws, elected its inaugural Executive Committee, and welcomed three new board members, forming a robust 11-member leadership team.
Newly elected Executive Committee members:
Andrew M. Anguiano, Chair – Southside Craft Soda
Daniel Mezza, Vice Chair – Puro Nitro Coffee
Gina Davison, Secretary – Fresh Focus Commercial Photography
Kira Heizer, Treasurer – EisnerAmper
In addition, Marcie Anguiano of Mission Crafts Chandlery will Chair the Events Committee, and Amanda Godlewski of MijaLearns/Godlewski Law will serve as Education Chair.
Newly elected board members include:
Marissa Gámez – Mira Matcha
Melissa Chalfant – Inventures
Charles Woodin – Geekdom
They join other founding board members:
Chris Cook – Special Leaf Tea
Kyle Koehler – Wildway
“Our goal has been to build a strong, innovative consumer packaged goods community while expanding resources and funding to support this part of San Antonio’s economy,” said Andrew M. Anguiano, incoming Chair. “With H-E-B headquartered here, San Antonio has the potential to lead in the development and scaling of consumer products. I hope our organization can play a pivotal role in making that happen.”
